On 3 June 2021, 14:00 – 17:30 CEST, BEREC is organising a public online workshop on 5G. This event will focus on two themes – New Business Models and Value Chains and Innovation.
Dr. Shuaib Siddiqui, director of the Software Networks Area in I2CAT, will participate in a panel discussing the pace of innovation in 5G services, representing the 5G ZORRO project point of view.
BEREC Working Group on Planning and Future Trends (PFT WG) is inviting stakeholders to share their insight on 5G New Business Models and Value Chains with a special emphasis on supply-chain diversification and its impact on competition. Moreover, this 5G workshop will also focus on the anticipated pace of innovation, thanks to the participation of experts, who have participated in 5G trials and pilots.
The event will be held online. Stakeholders are invited to register their interest by completing the details below. Deadline – 2 June 2021, 12:00 CEST. All the registered participants will receive the connection details shortly before the event.
Workshop’s Agenda
In the first session, 14:00 – 15:30 CEST, after introductory remarks by Jean Marie Mifsud, Co-chair of the BEREC PFT WG, will provide introductory remarks on the 1st panel discussion, which will bring together experts in the possible supply-chain diversification that 5G may enable, such as Neutral Host Operators and Private 5G Networks.
The second session, 16:00 – 17:30 CEST, will feature a 2nd panel that will discuss issues related to the anticipated pace of innovation in 5G services moderated by Bert Klaassens, Co-chairs of the BEREC PFT WG. This session will bring together experts in the field of 5G Verticals and emerging trends, such as Digital Twins and Block chain.
